Koutetsujou no Kabaneri: Unato Kessen (2019)

“Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato” takes place half a year after the events of the first season.

Ikoma, Mumei, and their companions enter the devastated city of Unato in the “iron fortress,” the armoured train Koutetsujou, where an alliance of resistance fighters is desperately battling a horde of ravenous kabanes. While the crew of the Koutetsujou joins the fray, Ikoma can’t get rid of the thought that the kabane’s attack patterns seem to be unusually coordinated. He wants to explore a secret tunnel and find out what’s inside the kabane nest—the Unato Fortress—but the local commanders won’t listen to him and instead consider him a threat as well, as his kabaneri instincts seem to get the better of him, resulting in his temporary detention by the allies.

In the meantime, Mumei, together with a handful of companions, decides to investigate the mysterious source of power inside the castle and daringly plunges into the dangerous tunnel …

Ikoma, Mumei und ihre Begleiter fahren mit der »eisernen Festung«, dem gepanzerten Zug Koutetsujou, in die verwüstete Stadt Unato ein, in der eine Allianz aus Widerstandskämpfern verzweifelt gegen eine Horde gefräßiger Kabane kämpft. Während sich die Crew des Koutetsujou dem Kampfgeschehen anschließt, lässt Ikoma der Gedanke nicht los, dass die Angriffsmuster der Kabane ungewöhnlich koordiniert erscheinen. Er will einen geheimen Tunnel erforschen und herausfinden, was sich im Inneren des Kabane-Nests – der Festung Unato – befindet, doch die hiesigen Befehlshaber wollen nicht auf ihn hören und halten ihn stattdessen ebenfalls für eine Bedrohung, denn seine Kabaneri-Instinkte scheinen ihn zu übermannen, woraufhin er vorübergehend von den Alliierten in Haft genommen wird.

Mumei beschließt unterdessen zusammen mit einer Handvoll Begleiter der rätselhaften Quelle der Macht im Inneren des Schlosses auf den Grund zu gehen und stürzt sich waghalsig in den gefährlichen Tunnel …

Ikoma, Mumei et leurs compagnons entrent dans la ville dévastée d’Unato à bord de la « forteresse de fer », le train blindé Koutetsujou, où une alliance de résistants lutte désespérément contre une horde de Kabane voraces. Alors que l’équipage du Koutetsujou rejoint la mêlée, Ikoma ne peut s’empêcher de penser que les attaques du Kabane semblent inhabituellement coordonnées. Il veut explorer un tunnel secret et découvrir ce qui se trouve à l’intérieur du nid de Kabane, la forteresse d’Unato, mais les commandants locaux ne veulent pas l’écouter et le considèrent comme une menace, car ses instincts de Kabaneri semblent prendre le dessus, ce qui lui vaut d’être temporairement détenu par les Alliés.

Mumei, quant à lui, décide d’aller au fond de la mystérieuse source d’énergie à l’intérieur du château avec une poignée de compagnons, et plonge courageusement dans le dangereux tunnel …

Ikoma, Mumei e i suoi accompagnatori viaggiano con la «fortezza di ferro», il treno corazzato Koutetsujou, verso la città devastata di Unato, nella quale un’alleanza di combattenti lotta disperatamente contro i vorace Kabane. Mentre la crew del Koutetsujou si unisce ai combattenti, Ikoma è perseguitato dal pensiero, che lo schema d’attacco dei Kabane sembra incredibilmente coordinato. Vuole esplorare il tunnel segreto, quindi, e scoprire cosa si trova all’interno del nido dei Kabane – la fortezza Unato – ma i comandanti locali non vogliono stare ad ascoltarlo e lo ritengono invece un pericolo, poiché sembra che i suoi istinti Kabaneri stiano per conquistare il sopravvento sopra di lui. A causa ciò viene momentaneamente arrestato dagli alleati.

Mumei, nel frattempo, decide, insieme ad una manciata di compagni, di scoprire di più sullo strano potere che si trova all’interno del castello e si butta quindi avventatamente nel tunnel …
