Contrary to the intuitive assumption that the “Ou-sama Game” anime adapts the original “Ou-sama Game” manga, this series is mainly an adaptation of “Ousama Game Extreme,” the continuation of the original manga.

Ou-sama Game folgt dem Jungen Nobuaki Kanazawa, der nach einer schrecklichen Tragödie innerhalb seiner alten Klasse an der Präfekturoberschule „Tamaoka“ den Wohnort und damit auch die Schule wechselt. Doch bereits ein Tag nach Schulbeginn erhält auch seine neue Klasse eine SMS von jemandem, der sich selbst „König“ nennt und Befehle an die Schüler versendet. Entgegen der intuitiven Annahme, dass der „Ou-sama Game“-Anime den ursprünglichen „Ou-sama Game“-Manga adaptiert, wird in dieser Serie hauptsächlich die Fortsetzung des Mangas, Ousama Game Extreme, umgesetzt.
