あらすじ

Shortly before the grand opening, a huge explosion rocks the Edge of Ocean international convention centre in Tokyo Bay. Numerous police officers, who had been deployed as security guards in view of the upcoming summit, are wounded, some of them even fatally. As part of the investigation into the cause, Kogoro Mori’s fingerprints are discovered at the scene, which brings him into the spotlight of the police and prosecutors, leading to his arrest as a suspected terrorist and cyber-hacker. He allegedly manipulated cables and then triggered the gas explosion via the Internet. So who framed the goofy master detective for this crime – and, more importantly, why?

Some time later, when several household appliances connected to the Internet explode in the same way, the investigators realize that they are on the wrong track. Does the real culprit come from their very own ranks?
