あらすじ

On the planet Zi live warlike biomechanical life forms, called “Zoids”, which are used as human-controlled weapons in the war between the Republic and the Guylos Empire. Van Flyheight is the son of the best Zoid pilot in his hometown, but he doesn’t live up to his father’s reputation. Although he emulates him, he’s lucky if he can even get a Zoid to run. But one day, everything changes for him in that regard. In an old facility in the middle of a remote desert, he finds – while fleeing from bandits – two opaque cocoons, and from one of them emerges a dinosaur-like robot, known as an “Organoid”, which Van names Zeke.

During the now unavoidable confrontation with the bandits, Zeke uses his power and awakens another Zoid named ’Shield Liger’ for Van, which he can control himself. Together they can avert the danger and turn their attention to the second cocoon, but from it emerges not another Zoid, but a mysterious girl. The girl, plagued by amnesia, remembers only two things: that her name is Fiona and that she must find an object called “Zoid Eve”. Determined to uncover the secret of her existence, Fiona embarks on a long journey with Van and Zeke to find the Zoid Eve and also to unravel Fiona’s past and origin. Soon, they encounter more new friends, but equally new problems, and are eventually drawn into the war that they would actually most like to stop.
