Yakusoku no Neverland (2016)

The Grace Field House is a small orphanage where many young orphans live – like Emma, Norman and Ray. To them, Isabella is their mom, although they are not related by blood. She does everything for her beloved children: cooking, doing the laundry and playing. One could not wish for a better mother!

Or so they thought, until one night, Emma and Norman discover the truth when they try to bring their newly adopted sister Conny her favourite toy. Instead of a happy family, they find Conny’s body … and horrifying monsters standing in front of her?! It turns out that nothing is as it seems. They do not live in an orphanage but on some kind of farm. Here, their brains are being trained since the brains of intelligent children are a delicacy for the monsters. Now Emma, Norman and Ray have to find a way to save themselves and their siblings from becoming victims of the brain-eating monsters. Will the three children manage to rescue their family from certain death?

Das Grace Field House ist ein kleines Waisenhaus, das viele junge Waisen beherbergt – so auch Emma, Norman und Ray. Für sie ist Isabella ihre »Mama«, auch wenn sie nicht durch Blut verbunden sind. Sie tut alles für ihre lieben Kinder: kochen, Wäsche waschen und spielen. Eine perfektere Mutter könnte man sich nicht vorstellen!

Denn eines Nachts werden Emma und Norman eines Besseren belehrt, als sie versuchen, ihrer frisch adoptierten Schwester Conny ihr liebstes Kuscheltier, Little Bernie, zu bringen. Statt einer netten Familie finden sie jedoch eine tote Conny vor … und vor ihr stehen schreckliche Monster?! Es stellt sich schließlich heraus, dass nichts so ist, wie es scheint. Statt in einem Waisenhaus befinden sich die Kinder auf einer Art Plantage für Monster. Hier sollen ihre Gehirne trainiert werden, da die Gehirne von intelligenten Kindern als eine Delikatesse unter den Monstern gelten. Nun müssen Emma, Norman und Ray einen Weg finden, um sich und ihre Geschwister zu retten und nicht Opfer dieser Gehirn fressenden Monster zu werden. Werden die drei Kinder es schaffen und ihre Familie vor dem sicheren Tod bewahren?

Emma, Norman e Ray vivono felici fin dalla nascita in un orfanotrofio circondato da un fitto bosco, accuditi da un’amorevole «mamma». La loro illusione di normalità va in pezzi quando scoprono cosa succede davvero a chi lascia la casa per essere «adottato», e cosa nasconde il muro che delimita il bosco: ai ragazzi non rimane che ingegnarsi per cercare la fuga. Inizia un letale gioco del gatto con il topo!
