Megalo Box (2018)

Only known by his competition name, Junk Dog grows up in a slum and lives from hand to mouth. Guided by his boss Gansaku Nanbu, he participates in underground boxing fights to earn a living. In these so-called Megalobox fights, the participants use mechanical equipment to improve their physical abilities. Junk Dog is increasingly dissatisfied and frustrated with his shadowy existence. However, although he is actually a capable boxer, he can’t bring himself to change anything about his fate. The complete opposite of Junk Dog is boxing champion Yuuri, who lives a life of fame and light. Through iron discipline, he has made it to the top of the boxing world. Yukiko Shirato, daughter of the owner of a corporate empire and part of the upper class, plans a new event for boxing to advance her career and advertise her company. She is founding a new boxing championship called Megalonia. On behalf of the Shirato corporation, Yuuri is to compete in the event and claim victory. Junk Dog also decides to participate and thus meets Yuuri, who is to become his greatest rival.

Der nur unter seinem Wettkampfnamen bekannte Junk Dog wächst in einem Elendsviertel auf und lebt von der Hand in den Mund. Angeleitet von seinem Boss Gansaku Nanbu nimmt er an Untergrund-Boxkämpfen teil, um sich so einen Lebensunterhalt zu verdienen. Im Rahmen dieser sogenannten Megalobox-Kämpfe nutzen die Teilnehmer mechanische Ausrüstungen, um ihre körperlichen Fähigkeiten zu verbessern. Junk Dog ist mit seinem Schattendasein zunehmend unzufrieden und frustriert. Doch obwohl er eigentlich ein fähiger Boxer ist, kann er sich nicht dazu aufraffen, etwas an seinem Schicksal zu ändern. Das komplette Gegenteil von Junk Dog ist der Boxchampion Yuuri, der ein Leben im Ruhm und Licht führt. Mit eiserner Disziplin hat er es an die Spitze des Boxsports geschafft. Yukiko Shirato, Tochter des Besitzers eines Konzernimperiums und Teil der Oberschicht, plant ein neues Event für den Boxsport, um ihre Karriere voranzutreiben und Werbung für ihr Unternehmen zu machen. Sie ruft eine neue Boxmeisterschaft, genannt Megalonia, ins Leben. Für den Shirato-Konzern soll Yuuri im Wettkampf antreten und den Sieg einholen. Auch Junk Dog entschließt sich, daran teilzunehmen und trifft so auf Yuuri, der zu seinem größten Rivalen werden soll.

Connu uniquement sous son nom de compétition, Junk Dog grandit dans un bidonville et vit au jour le jour. Guidé par son patron Gansaku Nanbu, il participe à des combats de boxe clandestins pour gagner sa vie. Dans le cadre de ces combats dits MEGALOBOX, les participants utilisent des équipements mécaniques pour améliorer leurs capacités physiques. Junk Dog est de plus en plus mécontent et frustré de son existence obscure. Mais même s’il est en réalité un boxeur compétent, il ne peut se résoudre à changer quoi que ce soit à son destin. Le champion de boxe Yuuri est tout le contraire de Junk Dog. Il vit une vie de gloire et de lumière. Avec une discipline de fer, il est parvenu à se hisser au sommet du monde de la boxe. Yukiko Shirato, fille du propriétaire d’un empire commercial et faisant partie de la classe supérieure, planifie un nouvel événement de boxe pour faire avancer sa carrière et gagner de la publicité pour son entreprise. Elle organise un nouveau championnat de boxe, appelé MEGALONIA. Yuuri doit participer à l’événement pour la société Shirato et remporter la victoire. Junk Dog décide également de participer et rencontre ainsi Yuuri, qui deviendra son plus grand rival.

Junk Dog, conosciuto solo con questo suo nome di battaglia, cresce in un quartiere povero e vive alla giornata. Istruito dal suo boss Gansaku Nanbu, partecipa a lotte underground per guadagnarsi da vivere. Nell’ambito dei cosiddetti combattimenti MEGALOBOX i contendenti usano apparecchiature meccaniche per potenziare le loro abilità fisiche. Junk Dog, però, è sempre più frustrato dalla sua esistenza nell’ombra. Anche se è un puglie capace, non riesce a darsi una mossa per migliorare il suo destino. L’esatto contrario di Junk Dog, è il campione di pugilato Yuuri, che conduce una vita nella gloria e nello splendore. Con disciplina ferrea è riuscito ad arrivare all’apice del pugilato. Yukiko Shirato, figlia del proprietario di un impero di aziende e membro dell’alta società, pianifica un nuovo evento per il pugilato per accelerare la sua carriera e pubblicizzare le sue aziende. Crea una nuova competizione pugilistica e la chiama MEGALONIA. Per la società Shirato gareggia Yuuri. Anche Junk Dog decide di partecipare e incontra così Yuuri, che diventerà il suo più grande rivale.
