In “The Demon Girl Next Door”, the anime adaptation of Izumo Itou’s 4-panel manga of the same name, we find ourselves in Tama City, a quiet little town whose inhabitants live in peace and harmony. But one day, the idyllic silence will come to an end when Yuuko Yoshida suddenly unleashes her demonic powers and becomes the demoness “Shadow Misstress Yuuko!” In a typical devilish manner, Yuuko now has horns and a tail and wants to disturb the peace in Tama City. Her ancestor Lilith ordered her to defeat the local Magical Girl of the light clan Momo Chiyoda. Yuuko doesn’t waste any time either, and when she meets Momo, thanks to her classmate Anri Sata, she challenges her to a duel … and loses completely …

Yuuko isn’t the strongest anyway – quite the opposite, in fact – because even with her demonic powers, she is weaker than a normal girl of her age, and since her devastating defeat against Momo, she doubts herself and is unsure how she can live up to her role as a devil. And what’s more, she also relies on Momo’s help regularly, and Momo, of course, doesn’t reject Yuuko’s requests. But as chance would have it, Momo seems to grow weaker and weaker the more time she spends with Yuuko …

In »The Demon Girl Next Door«, der Anime-Adaption zu Izumo Itous gleichnamigem 4-Panel-Manga, verschlägt es uns nach Tama City, eine ruhige kleine Stadt, deren Bewohner in Frieden und Einklang leben. Doch eines Tages soll die idyllische Ruhe ihr Ende finden, als Yuuko Yoshida plötzlich ihre dämonischen Mächte entfesselt und zur Teufelin »Shadow Misstress Yuuko« wird! In typisch teuflischer Manier hat Yuuko nun Hörner sowie einen Schwanz und will den Frieden in Tama City stören. Dazu wurde sie von ihrer Vorfahrin Lilith beauftragt, das örtliche Magical Girl des Lichtclans Momo Chiyoda zu bezwingen. Yuuko verschwendet auch keine Zeit und als sie Momo dank ihrer Klassenkameradin Anri Sata dann auch antrifft, fordert sie sie auch gleich zum Duell heraus … und verliert auf ganzer Linie …

Yuuko ist ohnehin nicht die Stärkste – ganz im Gegenteil –, ist sie doch selbst mit ihren dämonischen Kräften noch schwächer als ein normales Mädchen ihres Alters und seit ihrer vernichtenden Niederlage gegen Momo zweifelt sie nun auch noch an sich selbst und ist sich unsicher, wie sie ihrer Rolle als Teufelin gerecht werden soll. Zu allem Überfluss ist sie auch noch regelmäßig auf Momos Hilfe angewiesen und diese lehnt Yuukos Gesuche natürlich nicht ab. Doch wie es der Zufall will, scheint Momo stetig schwächer zu werden, umso mehr Zeit sie mit Yuuko verbringt …

In The Demon Girl Next Door, adattamento omonimo dell’anime 4-koma di Izumo Itou, ci troviamo in Tama City, una tranquilla cittadina, i cui abitanti vivono in pace ed armonia. Un giorno, però, questa pace idilliaca giunge ad una fine repentina, quando Yuuko Yoshida libera all’improvviso il suoi poteri demoniaci e diventa la diavolessa “Shadow Misstress Yuuko”! Come giusto sia, Yuuko ha delle corna ed una coda e vuole disturbare la pace in Tama City. Oltretutto la sua antenata Lilith le ha ordinato di battere la magical girl locale del clan della luce, Momo Chiyoda. Yuuko non perde tempo, e quando incontra Momo, grazie alla sua compagna di classe Anri Sada, le lancia subito la sfida … e perde su tutta la linea.

Comunque Yuuko non è la più forte, anzi al contrario: pur avendo poteri demoniaci è più debole di una ragazzina normale e da quando è stata battuta da Momo inizia a dubitare se stessa e non è più sicura di essere in grado di sostenere in modo adeguato il suo ruolo da diavolessa. A tutto ciò si aggiunge anche il fatto che le serve sempre più spesso l’aiuto di Momo, che naturalmente non rifiuta. Ma come il caso vuole, più Momo passa tempo con Yuuko più debole diventa …
