あらすじ
In the time after the Napoleonic Revolution, Guys and his friends grow up as street children. They don’t always take the law very seriously, so sometimes a few sweets slip into their pockets and they forget to pay for them.
One day, however, Guys is in the wrong place at the wrong time. And he finds himself in court: not for shoplifting – but for murder! Before he knows it, he is sentenced to life in prison! Even if governments change and laws change, one place always remains the same: prison. Guys goes through a hell of violence. And yet he never gives up. This impresses the famous lawyer Lusca, who takes on the case. And after a while he gets on the trail of a conspiracy involving people inside and outside the prison.
Meanwhile, Guys has to realise that the boys he thinks are his friends may not be such good friends after all – and that, without realising it, he has made friends in a place he would never have suspected. Lusca seeks an appeal for Guys’ trial. Will he be able to prove the boy’s innocence and convict the real culprit? What will become of Guys’ new friends?
