Bubblegum Crash! (1991)

“Bubblegum Crash” is set one year after the events of “Bubblegum Crisis”. The Knight Sabers, a once four-member group of female mercenaries, has scattered to the winds. Their leader, Sylia Stingray, has completely gone off the grid. Linna Yamazaki made tons of money on the stock market, while Priscilla Asagiri has had her fair share of trouble staying in the music business at all, thanks to a constant change of managers. Only Nene Romanova has remained with the AD Police.

One day, attacks by the mercenary group Illegal Army cause trouble. This group raids technology companies and steals special parts and components. When Sylia comes out of hiding, the motivation becomes clear: The Zone Corporation manufactures brains for robots called Boomers. Now, they are working on a brand new and still top-secret AI, and the parts needed for it are now being successively stolen.

Only two components have not yet fallen into the hands of the mercenaries. Therefore, the freshly reunited Knight Sabers are given the task of defending these parts – no matter what the cost.

»Bubblegum Crash« spielt ein Jahr nach den Ereignissen von »Bubblegum Crisis«. Die Knight Sabers, eine einst vierköpfige Gruppe von Söldnerinnen, ist in alle Winde zerstreut. Deren Anführerin Sylia Stingray ist völlig von der Bildfläche verschwunden. Linna Yamazaki hat an der Börse das große Geld gemacht, während Priscilla Asagiri ihr liebe Mühe hatte, dank ständig neuer Manager überhaupt im Musikgeschäft zu bleiben. Lediglich Nene Romanova ist bei der AD Police geblieben.

Eines Tages sorgen Angriffe einer Söldnertruppe Illegal Army für Unruhe. Diese überfällt Technologiefirmen und entwendet spezielle Bauteile und Komponenten. Als Sylia aus der Deckung kommt, klärt sich auch die Motivation: Die Zone Corporation stellt Hirne für die Boomer genannten Roboter her. Nun arbeiten sie an einer brandneuen und noch streng geheimen KI, und die dafür benötigten Teilen werden nun sukzessive entwendet.

Nur zwei Bauteile sind den Söldner bislang nicht in die Hand gefallen. Die frisch wiedervereinten Knight Sabers erhalten daher den Auftrag, diese Teile zu verteidigen – koste es, was es wolle.

Sinopsis:
Año 2034. Linna Yamazaki, Sylia Stingray, Nené Romanova y Priscilla S. Asagiri formaban un grupo de defensoras de la justicia llamadas Caballeros Sable. Mantenían el orden enfundadas en trajes mecánicos realizados con tecnología punta y los peligrosos Boomers (androides con avanzada inteligencia artificial) y la organización Venom se lo pensaban dos veces antes de atacar.

Pero los años han pasado y las chicas ya no están juntas. Nené aún trabaja en la AD Police, Linna trabaja como accionista, Priss ha seguido con su carrera como cantante y Sylia … ha desaparecido. La fanática de la tecnología reúne a sus antiguas compañeras y les ofrece armaduras mejoradas, aún más poderosas. Quiere que los Caballeros Sable renazcan de sus cenizas, ya que una nueva amenaza se cierne sobre Mega Tokyo. Una amenaza con nombre: la Armada Ilegal …
