“Memories” tells three short stories by artist and director Katsuhiro Ootomo from his manga “Memories of Her …”

Episode 1: “Magnetic Rose” (Direction: Kouji Morimoto)
When the spaceship Corona is on a salvage mission, they receive a distress signal. At its origin, they find numerous space shipwrecks, including a space station. The two engineers, Heintz and Miguel, enter this station and are astonished when most rooms contain furniture. During their exploration, however, the two engineers discover that the abandoned station is not up to scratch.

Episode 2: “Stink Bomb” (Direction: Tensai Okamura)
Actually, young laboratorian Nobuo Tanaka just wanted to recover from the flu, when everything went wrong: instead of actual medicine, he swallowed some ominous pills that turned poor Nobuo into a biological weapon of unimaginable proportions. When he finds that all of his colleagues in the lab have been affected by it, he goes to get help – unaware that he is the cause. The poisonous gases he emits without ceasing become more and more effective, causing countless deaths left and right along the way.

Episode 3: “Cannon Fodder” (Direction: Katsuhiro Ootomo)
Behind great walls, a city is at war. There, enormous cannons are fired without ceasing to destroy a supposed enemy beyond the walls. Each house is equipped with a cannon, and each inhabitant is obliged to maintain, load and fire it. But who is this enemy that no one seems to really know?
