Tsuyokiss: Cool x Sweet (2006)

Sunao Konoe is transferring to a new high school. Ever since she was a child, she has dreamed of being on a theatre stage. That’s why she immediately tries to start a theatre club at her new school.

However, she encounters all kinds of problems, mainly due to the arrogant “princess” Erika Kiriya and her “court”, including the sword-bearer Otome Kurogane, who is the overseer of school discipline. This is because Erika is not only the daughter of a wealthy family but also the undisputed head of the student council, which would have to approve the club’s establishment. And to her surprise, Sunao also meets her sandbox love Leo Tsushima again in the circle of this “court”. He is the only one who had already supported her theatre plans in primary school, but at the same time called her by the nickname “radish”, a synonym for “miserable actor”.

Sunao proves to be persistent … to the point of stubbornness: she wants this theatre club at any price! Soon, Otome changes sides and becomes Sunao’s most important supporter and mentor, who, over time, also earns the respect and friendship of those who had initially classified her as a mere “theatre freak”. But Sunao has not yet recognised her real problem …

Sunao Konoe wechselt auf eine neue Oberschule. Seit ihrer Kindheit träumt sie davon, auf einer Theaterbühne zu stehen. Deshalb versucht sie auch sofort, an ihrer neuen Schule einen Theaterclub ins Leben zu rufen.

Dabei stößt sie jedoch auf allerlei Probleme, hauptsächlich aufgrund der arroganten »Prinzessin« Erika Kiriya, Tochter aus reichem Haus und unangefochtene Chefin des Schülerrates, der die Einrichtung des Clubs zu genehmigen hätte, und deren »Hofstaat«, darunter die Schwertträgerin Otome Kurogane, ihres Zeichens Überwacherin der Schuldisziplin. Und zu ihrer Überraschung trifft Sunao im Kreis dieses »Hofstaats« auch ihre Sandkastenliebe Leo Tsushima wieder – den Einzigen, der ihre Theater-Pläne bereits in der Grundschule unterstützt hatte, sie aber gleichzeitig mit dem Spitznamen »Rettich« bezeichnete, ein Synonym für »miserabler Schauspieler«.

Sunao erweist sich als beharrlich … bis an die Grenze zur Sturheit: Sie will diesen Theaterclub um jeden Preis haben! Schon bald wechselt Otome die Seiten und wird zur wichtigsten Unterstützerin und Mentorin Sunaos, die sich mit der Zeit auch den Respekt und die Freundschaft derjenigen erarbeitet, die sie zunächst als reinen »Theater-Freak« eingestuft hatten. Doch ihr eigentliches Problem hat Sunao noch gar nicht erkannt …
