Zangetsu (斬月; schneidender Mond) ist das Zanpakutou von Ichigo Kurosaki, das ihm in Form eines ca. 40-jährigen Mannes im schwarzen Umhang mit Sonnenbrille erscheint.
Zangetsu fordert Ichigo immer aufs Neue seine Grenzen zu überschreiten und stärker zu werden.
Zu diesem Zweck arbeitet Zangetsu sogar mit Hollow-Ichigo zusammen, der versucht Ichigos Körper für sich zu gewinnen.
