説明
Kadokawa Corporation is a Japanese holding company and the main company of the Kadokawa Group.
On the 1st April 2003, a complete restructuring of the group of companies took place. For this purpose, the company Kadokawa Shoten was renamed Kadokawa Holdings (later renamed Kadokawa Corporation). In the course of this, a new subsidiary was established with the name Kadokawa Shoten. On the 1st October 2013, the subsidiary was dissolved and converted into an imprint.
In 2006, the corporate group grew to a good forty companies. In order to strengthen the corporate structure, it was decided to rename the company from Kadokawa Holdings to Kadokawa Group Holdings to make clear that this was a group of companies.
On the 22nd June 2013, the holding company’s trading name was shortened to Kadokawa.
As a result, on the 1st October 2013, the holding company was re-established by integrating another nine of its subsidiaries into the existing corporate structure.
On the 1st October 2014, the overarching holding company Kadokawa Dwango Corporation was established. The company was formed by merging two companies, Dwango Co., Ltd. and Kadokawa Corporation.
This new holding company was indirectly dissolved in 2019 by transferring everything from Kadokawa Corporation to Kadokawa Dwango Corporation and then renaming the last company Kadokawa Corporation. To avoid name duplication, Kadokawa Corporation was changed to Kadokawa Future Publishing.
On the 28th April 2021, the company acquired the American publishing house J-Novel Club LLC. This was followed in early June by the founding of the 3DCG and VFX studio Studio KADAN Co. Ltd.
