TV Tokyo Corporation is a Japanese media company that operates the same-named channel TV Tokyo.

The TV station was founded in 1951 and the first broadcast took place on the 12th April 1964 under the name Tokyo 12 Channel. At that time, the TV station still belonged to the Japan Science Promotion Foundation. On the 1st July 1968, the company Tokyo Channel 12 Production, Ltd. was founded. In October of the same year, it was renamed Tokyo Channel 12, Ltd. At the same time, the company took over the Foundation’s entire television operations. At the beginning of October 1981, the company, as well as the TV station, received its present name.

On the 25th June 2003, the official English name of the company was changed to TV Tokyo Corporation. Through an internal restructuring, the holding company TV Tokyo Holdings was founded on the 1st October 2010, to which the company became a wholly owned subsidiary.

The TV station has been a founding member of the Mega TON network since 1983, together with TV Osaka and TV Aichi.
