SUNRISE Inc. is a Japanese animation studio founded in 1972 as Sunrise Studio. The headquarters are located in the Suginami district of the city of Tokyo.

Since February 1994, the company has been a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings and thus a member of the Bandai Group.

The company is one of Japan’s largest and best-known animation studios and has produced many popular anime series, such as “Mobile Suit Gundam”, “Cowboy Bebop”, “Escaflowne”, “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” or “InuYasha”.

The most important subsidiaries are SUNRISE Music (April 2002) and NAMCO BANDAI Pictures (April 2015).

In March 2019, the two subsidiaries SUNRISE BEYOND and SUNRISE SHANGHAI were established.
