“No Longer Human”, based on Osamu Dazai’s novel “No Longer Human”, is about the manga artist Furuya Usamaru, who stumbles across Youzou Ooba’s diary while researching his latest manga on the internet. It doesn’t take him long to realise that this diary is anything but normal. Youzou no longer sees himself as a human being. Every day, he wanders through life with a façade of hollow cheerfulness, laughing and pretending to “live”. In truth, all he really wants to do is die. One day, he finally meets a woman named Ageha, with whom he wants to commit a “double suicide”. However, the suicide attempt comes to a surprising end …
