Persona 4 (2008)

Based on the video game of the same name, “Persona 4” tells the story of young Souji Seta, who moves to Inaba to live with his uncle in the countryside. Once there, he discovers that the otherwise idyllic village is haunted by a series of strange murders. During his investigation, Souji discovers a parallel world when he and two school friends are drawn into a television set. There, they face monsters that the three can only fight with the help of their “personas”, shadow creatures that reflect their souls. Together as a team, they use their personas to try to fathom the connections between the TV world and reality.

Basierend auf dem gleichnamigen Videospiel, erzählt »Persona 4« die Geschichte des jungen Souji Seta, der nach Inaba zu seinem Onkel aufs Land zieht. Dort angekommen, muss er feststellen, dass das sonst so idyllische Dorf von einer Reihe seltsamer Mordfälle heimgesucht wird. Während seiner Ermittlungen entdeckt Souji eine Parallelwelt, als er zusammen mit zwei Schulfreunden in einen Fernseher gezogen wird. Dort stehen sie Monstern gegenüber, die die drei nur mithilfe ihrer »Personas«, Schattenwesen, die ihre Seele widerspiegeln, bekämpfen können. Zusammen als Team versuchen sie mit ihren Personas, die Zusammenhänge zwischen der Fernsehwelt und der Realität zu ergründen.
