Kazuki Akane is a Japanese director and screenwriter who was born on March 24, 1962 in Osaka.

Until the early 2000s, he was employed by the animation studio SUNRISE, where he co-directed his most popular work to date – “Escaflowne” – with Shouji Kawamori.

After that, he often worked with Studio Satelight. Akane is currently working as a freelancer, including for his work “Birdy the Mighty: Decode”.

Kazuki Akane ist ein japanischer Regisseur und Drehbuchautor, der am 24. März 1962 in Osaka geboren wurde.

Bis in die frühen 2000er-Jahre hinein war er beim Animationsstudio SUNRISE angestellt, wo er unter anderem mit Shouji Kawamori zusammen für sein bisher beliebtestes Werk Regie führte: „The Vision of Escaflowne“.
