Yoshihiro Togashi is a Japanese mangaka who had his breakthrough with “YuYu Hakusho” in 1990. The manga was adapted into an anime only two years later.

However, he gained fame with his current series “Hunter x Hunter”, which received an anime adaptation in 1999 as well as in 2011. Since 2006, Yoshihiro Togashi repeatedly took longer breaks during the release of “Hunter x Hunter”, mostly due to illness and hip or back pain.

On 6 January 1999, he married the artist of the manga series “Sailor Moon”, Naoko Takeuchi. He also has a sister and a younger brother who is also a mangaka.
